El propósito de este trabajo es la interpretación del ciclo ritual yaqui y la identificación del sistema cultural que de él deriva. Para ello se parte de la reconstrucción etnográfica, fecha por fecha, de su ciclo litúrgico anual. Se ofrece una descripción concisa de las datas significativas del calendario religioso, se consideran las bases teóricas que sustentan dicha reconstrucción y, por último se determina, con base en el análisis, las reglas implícitas que ordenan el esquema clasificatorio considerado.

The Yaqui calendar context.

The aim of this work is the interpretation of the Yaqui ritual cycle and the identification of the cultural system that is derived from it, starting from the ethnographic reconstruction, date by date, of their annual liturgical cycle. This work also presents an accurate description of significant dates of the religious calendar, then it considers the theoretical basis on which such reconstruction is supported and lastly, it determines, based on analysis, the implicit principles that rule the considered classifying scheme.
